I’m Scott Goldie — an AI and Technology practitioner based in Melbourne, Australia.
For over thirty years I’ve worked at the intersection of technology and business outcomes. Most recently I was Director of Technology at McKinsey, where I led technical delivery on programs across defence, government, banking, insurance, energy, and education. Often in environments where getting it wrong simply wasn’t an option.
Before McKinsey I held technology leadership roles at Telstra, Winning Group, Servian, and Shine Solutions, building and scaling platforms, teams, and practices. I’ve worked across most of the sectors that keep Australia running.
What I focus on
I help organisations make sense of AI — particularly the gap between what vendors promise and what actually delivers value. Most enterprises are earlier in their AI journey than they think, and that’s fine. There’s significant ROI available right now without chasing capabilities that don’t exist yet.
I also write code. I maintain open source projects and believe that staying hands-on keeps my advice grounded in reality.
